For me the issue has fixed by itself after factory reset and few days waiting. My 5 has been going completely haywire as well. Looked back and this happened with the 6.0, 7.0 7.10 beta firmware. Last week an hour run it said I gained 40' but lost 25,000'. I'll set it to the known elevation before I go to sleep, wake up, its at -65,000.
